A concentrated load of Zug art will be on show in Zug on the first weekend in November. Six Zug artists present themselves together and show their works.
Andrea Bösiger, www.andreaboesiger.ch, is exhibiting her amazing photorealistic works. They are so real that you have to look closely to recognize that the pictures are painted in acrylic and pencil. Andrea Bösiger has been painting and drawing since she was a child. The artist grew up in Oberwil near Zug. Her talent for art was already evident at school and she also devoted her free time to drawing. In order to get a little closer to her dream of becoming a fashion designer, she attended fashion design courses at the art school in Zurich for six years. However, her path briefly took her in a different direction. Working in international trading and trust companies forced her to temporarily neglect her passion for art. Today she is working as an artist again and prefers the medium of acrylic paint. She uses it to create works of art on canvases of up to 9 square meters. Since 2015, Andrea has been able to pursue her passion in her own studio in Zug. She finds the inspiration for her works in nature.
Doris Fleischlin, www.silverpassion.ch, has a soft spot for silver combined with gemstones. She uses them to make handcrafted and exquisite pieces of jewelry. Creative work is a part of her life. Not handicrafts, but traditional craftsmanship, developed over the years. All the materials she works with are of natural origin and have lain deep in the earth for thousands of years. From silver to natural stones from the Swiss Alps and gemstones from all over the world. All the jewelry in her collection is made exclusively from sterling silver (925), fine silver (999), stainless steel and genuine stones. She is particularly fascinated by the combination of silver and gemstones because she is convinced that the power of these (healing) stones resonates in every person. New pieces of jewelry are constantly being created in her studio in Hausen am Albis. From her own creations or also very gladly individually on customer request.
Ursi Hotz, www.trouve-art.ch, has a large collection of carefully found objects, her trouvailles, from which she creates small, fine works of art. Each of the incredible number of parts that Ursula Hotz processes into an object tells a story. Most of the keys, beads, stones, lace, buttons, feathers, cogwheels, bones, keys and miniature figurines are built into small boxes or wooden crates and turned into a work of art. And each one is different. It is fascinating to see how she shapes such parts in an object frame into a fantastic work - and breathes new life into things. She usually works on several pieces at the same time, as she glues and paints and it takes time for everything to dry. She also listens to music and it is a very meditative working process in which new ideas are constantly flowing in. Ursula Hotz is very creative and never runs out of ideas.
Stefan Huwiler, alias UHU, creates his very own objects using all kinds of found and collected objects. Ordinary objects are transformed into something extraordinary by a skilled hand and a creative mind. Under the glow of light, the objects shine in new splendor and undergo a wondrous transformation, acquiring an almost magical aura. This play with different elements reveals hidden facets and invites you to discover the stories behind the materials.
Sonja Hübscher, www.sonjahuebscher.com, has found her passion in steel. She shows her original steel sculptures and also exhibits some of her acrylic paintings. She likes people. Her subjects are faces. Brightly colored in acrylic and simple and elegant in steel. Her motto is “To the cheerful, the world also appears cheerful” (J.W. V. Goethe). She has been an artist since childhood. Art has always accompanied her, even during her work as an electrical engineer. Be it with courses on various artistic techniques or in the form of a break in which she wanted to test how the most diverse audience in the pedestrian zones would react to her art. People liked it and during these years she lived exclusively from the sale of her art and traveled all over Europe in her VW bus. It was during this time that the idea of creating art in public spaces was born. Her aim is to produce large, moving and electronically processed steel sculptures.
Rosmarie Kieliger grew up in Baar. She finds her source of inspiration in nature. This is how she creates her landscapes in acrylic mixed media. From colorful to “less is more”. She loves to be creative. She lived this out in her profession as a hairdresser. When she attended her first acrylic painting course in 2008, she found a new way to express herself creatively. This was followed by numerous other art courses at home and abroad. Including at the “Fabrik am See” (Academy for Contemporary Art). In her works, she mainly processes memories of situations she has experienced. The inspiration for the “poppy painting” came during her vacation in the Kaiserstuhl region. Pictures were also created from impressions of the northern lights in Switzerland. Rosmarie Kieliger has successfully exhibited and sold her atmospheric paintings on several occasions.
